Song On The Casino Commercial

Hola!

Today I saw the links of the SECmana in Security by default, has been discovered that the main FTP server proftpd had been committed and that the code for version 1.3.3 contained a backdoor that allows identified users gain root access.

What fun! Vulnerability in proftpd makes protfpd Version downloaded last week contained another ... Inception reminds me !

But the question that comes to mind is: and by the way, have fixed the vulnerability that has made it possible to modify the source code files hosted on the main FTP server? Reading the

announcement of the discovery on the web project itself, that we realize that the vulnerability was already fixed, but had not patched ... Olé!

In any case, it could have avoided this situation if, as have already done, the summary of the original file had been posted on the website of the project and not only on the FTP server.

So, you know, if you downloaded proftpd between November 28 and December 2, almost certain that you are winning, because the server was compromised rsync server distribution of all ftp mirror.
And remember that whenever you download a file, you should check the summary.

In Honour of Archer

Video
that in the context of the event and exhibition Cerimony Frederick Scott Archer, "pays homage to the inventor of the collodion wet.
Frederick Scott Archer is considered one of the inventors of the photographic process wet collodion. The first official mentioning collodion photography was Gustave Le Gray in his Traité pratique de la photographie (1849) speaks of this solution as a recipe for a negative role and a year later, applies to a proceeding glass (1). In March 1851, the sculptor and photographer Scott Archer, who published a proposed methodology collodion well experienced in the British magazine The Chemist . The method represents a breakthrough in photography because it allows a more instant, with an exposure time 15 times lower than they need the most modern daguerreotype. It seems be that Archer was already working on it since 1848. However, Archer did not patent the process and did not bring any profit. In 1857, only sesis years after the publication in The Chemist , Archer died practically penniless and is buried at Kensal Green cemetery London, where she remains in an unmarked grave.

The video, made by the collective Atelier Rear , Contains part of the initiative Frederick Scott Archer Cerimony , project created with the aim of rehabilitating the image of Scott Archer made a tribute in his memory and placing a plaque on his grave. This event took place last May 1 in the same cemetery Kensal Green. Together, there were also demonstrations of the wet collodion process resulting in a total of 22 images to be exhibited at the Dissenter's Gallery, located in the same cemetery, until 22 May. The project has been funded by donations and profits from the sale of the book Wet Plate Collodion World Day 2009 , publication containing pictures of Wet Plate Collodion World Day, an initiative developed by The Collective Collodion.

ROUNDTABLE CONFERENCE ethical or aesthetic

Within the context of the project PICS (Projecte d'Imatge Contemporary Social i) will make an interesting round table is to think about ethics in contemporary photography.

Between 26 and 30 April, the civic center of Barcelona celebrates Pati Llimona PICS (Projecte d'Imatge Contemporary Social i) a set of activities related to photography. We highlight a panel discussion entitled "Ethical or aesthetic" that brings to the table the question of ethics in photography. An interesting controversy that seems to back the discussion about the natural imbalance between connotative and denotative aspects of photography, from the field of ethics and semiotics. Thanks to the spread of digital manipulation, photography seems to have lost its powerful force as purely denotative document devoid of code. It brings into play the photograph as a document irrefutable proof that objectively reflects the reality and thus raised questions as authenticity, credibility, honesty, trust, objectivity and other aspects that could meet the need, values, objectives of the images. Your sample or its concealment, its spontaneity and its preparation, handling or purity. The final choice based on ethical, moral and social, looking for a determined and anticipated consumer reaction to the image.

The fotodebate will take place on April 29th at 20:00 and will include the participation of Sergio Tello, photographer, David Vilaplana, photographer and associate partner Image in Action, Isabel Holgado of Col • lectiu and Al hanan moderation victory by the Association Photo Selective approach.
