Roundtable: "Looking for awareness: photography and solidarity

Vicente Ferrer Foundation has organized a round table in the exhibition "Gifts of the força of Canvi a l'Índia" aims be a space for open dialogue to reflect on the photograph as an advocacy tool and tool for social awareness.

The event will feature the participation of Pepe Baeza, graphic editor of La Vanguardia Magazine and professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, \u200b\u200bSilvia Omedes , president of Photographic Social Vision and photo editor Blume and publisher Albert Uriach , photographer and author of the exhibition.

Pepe Baeza
a degree in Journalism and a Ph.D. in Information Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. It was a press photographer for ten years and since 1988 has worked as a photo editor in leading media as The Journal of Catalonia, The Observer and La Vanguardia. He currently works as editor and graphic editor Magazine supplement of La Vanguardia and combines this activity with teaching at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwhere the subjects "Photographic Genres" and "Theory and technique Photojournalism. " He has taught courses, seminars and conferences photography and media in various universities and cultural institutions. He is the author of the book For a critical role press photography and has written extensively on company image and in academic publications and journals. Occasionally, it also acts as curator and coordinator of cultural activities.
Omedes
Silvia has a degree in Fine Arts from the New School for Social Research in New York. She has also completed a degree in Photojournalism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Master Roles of NGOs in ESADE Gerencials. He has worked as coordinator of the Guggenheim Museum Exhibition New York. Since in 2000, works as a freelance curator and is representative of photographers. He has also acted as coordinator of exhibitions in the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) and was photo editor of Issue 5 fish eye. In 2001 he founded Photographic Social Vision, a nonprofit entity that manages and produces reports and audiovisual photojournalistic, publishes books, organizes and coordinates exhibitions of photography discussions of social criticism. Currently, Silvia chairs the Foundation and combines this work with the photo editor of the editorial Blume and the graduate photojournalism professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Albert
Uriach
studied photography at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia. Currently working as a professional photographer in Barcelona. He has done stories for Intervida in Nicaragua to Almenara in Chad and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation in India. He is the author of the exhibition "Faces and voices of the action" and "gifts, the Canvi força a l'Índia.

COURSE: Los fotográficos Albums
