The Ultimate Element Crossword Puzzle

ROUNDTABLE CONFERENCE ethical or aesthetic

Within the context of the project PICS (Projecte d'Imatge Contemporary Social i) will make an interesting round table is to think about ethics in contemporary photography.

Between 26 and 30 April, the civic center of Barcelona celebrates Pati Llimona PICS (Projecte d'Imatge Contemporary Social i) a set of activities related to photography. We highlight a panel discussion entitled "Ethical or aesthetic" that brings to the table the question of ethics in photography. An interesting controversy that seems to back the discussion about the natural imbalance between connotative and denotative aspects of photography, from the field of ethics and semiotics. Thanks to the spread of digital manipulation, photography seems to have lost its powerful force as purely denotative document devoid of code. It brings into play the photograph as a document irrefutable proof that objectively reflects the reality and thus raised questions as authenticity, credibility, honesty, trust, objectivity and other aspects that could meet the need, values, objectives of the images. Your sample or its concealment, its spontaneity and its preparation, handling or purity. The final choice based on ethical, moral and social, looking for a determined and anticipated consumer reaction to the image.

The fotodebate will take place on April 29th at 20:00 and will include the participation of Sergio Tello, photographer, David Vilaplana, photographer and associate partner Image in Action, Isabel Holgado of Col • lectiu and Al hanan moderation victory by the Association Photo Selective approach.
