Open Mesh Project: how to fight an Internet blackout

Hello!

The other day I read an article Shervin Pishevard very interesting, Humans Are the routers, which tells how the Egyptian government to see that the Internet caused a blackout during the riots, came the idea of \u200b\u200bstarting a project that would allow people could follow communicating to organize their protests. So I tweeted the idea and literally within hours the project was born Project Open Mesh (based on the concept of mesh networks ).

Open Mesh networks for connecting various devices (computers and smartphones wlan card) to each other, and are very robust, with continuous connections that can be reconfigured and overcome fallen nodes or blocked, jumping from node to node until it reaches the destination, either another device or network node that connects to the Internet. When an Internet connection available to extend the number of people who can connect. When there is not, these networks allow people to continue to communicate if other forms of electronic communication are down or blocked.

is a very interesting project and very nice it is seeking to create community, so seeking volunteers to assist, in particular, experts in wireless card firmware, software developers and companies to develop WLAN equipment, both hardware and software.

Greetings!
